Dreams do come true

Tomorrow in Washington D.C. another dream will come true for this great nation. The promise of liberty and justice for all is being realized, perhaps too slowly for many, but still the march continues. When Barack Obama takes the oath of office, hope will bloom in our hearts. My hope is that each one of us will realize our own gift of freedom — and its responsibilities — and share it with every one we meet in life.

This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood.

“I have a dream”, Martin Luther King, August 28, 1963, Washington D.C.
